Johnnie Mae Gauthney, 73 of Burlington passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at home.
Johnnie Mae was born in Randolph County on February 9, 1944 the daughter of the late Lewis Winchester and Hattie Pearl McCant. She was employed at Thomasville Furniture for many years before retiring. While living in Philadelphia, she was a member of Gibson Temple Baptist Church.
Surviving are five children, Deborah Singleton, Teresa McClary, Brady Alexander, Angela Alexander and Timothy Alexander; twelve grandchildren, Jabbar McClary, Marvin Singleton, Shamika Singleton, Maurice Alexander, Lateisha Garland, Derick Spivey, Khadijah Alexander, James Manson, Lakisha Manson, Tiara Weary, Brady Alexander, Jr. and Nyshia Saunders; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held from 12-3 pm on Friday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory. A Home Going Celebration is being planned for a later date in Philadelphia. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com. Arrangements are in the care of Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
