“John” Alvis Faulkner, 85, a resident of Burlington, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Alamance on Sunday, August 21, 2016.

John was a native of Alamance County and the husband of the late Betty Lineberry Faulkner. John loved buying and selling antiques and working on old hit and miss motors. He was involved in logging and sawmilling and worked for Burlington Industries for many years. The family would like to thank the Rev. Bennie Smith for leading John to his Lord and Savior.

 Surviving are son, John Kirk Faulkner and daughter Karen Jean Faulkner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Wilma Faulkner, brothers, James T. Faulkner, Donald Faulkner, and Devoy Faulkner and sisters, Edith Berry, Marydell Chambers, and Josephine Brown. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A special thank you to Kim Scott, who he constantly kept an eye on and cared for. Also, the family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful neighbors who aided in caring for and praying for Mr. Faulkner. The family would like to offer special thanks to Hospice of Alamance and Caswell, particularly Robyn, Janet and Crystal.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Rev. Bennie Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of Mr. Faulkner’s son, Kirk Faulkner.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Staley Memorial Baptist Church, 1446 North Graham Hopedale Road, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
