Welcome to the memorial page for

Carrie Ann (Holderman) Gilmore

June 13, 1974 ~ May 2, 2016 (age 41) 41 Years Old

Carrie Ann Gilmore died Monday, May 2, 2016 with her family and friends by her side.  A loving mother, wife, aunt, sister, daughter, and friend, Carrie will be forever in our hearts.

Carrie was born June 13, 1974 to Roxann and Calvin Holderman in West Hazleton, PA.  Carrie was larger than life, and believed that some sparkle, glitter, fairy dust, and a tutu could make any occasion better.  She had such a big heart, and gave so much of her time to many important causes, including a term as president of the Durham Mothers’ Club, helping run 5K races to benefit UNC Pediatric Oncology and The Get REAL & HEEL Breast Cancer Research Program, heading fundraising for Pearsontown Elementary PTA, class mom for multiple of her daughters’ classes, a Girls on the Run coach, and so much more. You could always count on Carrie to help you out in a time of need, and she always had such great advice.  Carrie worked at Girls on the Run of the Triangle as the SoleMates and Community Outreach coordinator, where she helped so many young girls grow confidence in themselves.

Carrie is survived by her loving husband Mark and their two beautiful daughters, Mackenzie and Addyson of Durham, NC; brother Michael Holderman and wife Jessica of Durham NC; brother Joseph Holderman and wife Monica of Raleigh, NC; brother Robert Holderman of West Hazleton, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Carrie’s life will be held Tuesday, May 10 at 2:00 PM at The Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Chapel Hill, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carrie’s American Cancer Society Memorial Page:  http://main.acsevents.org/goto/carrie_ann_gilmore
