William "Billy" Ellington

William “Billy” Ellington went home to be with the lord on Tuesday April 9, 2024. He was born on the 20th day of July in 1936 to the late Donald Ellington and Nellie Ellington. Billy was a member of Hope Baptist Church. He was a beloved Christian and cherished times with family and friends. He was a welder in metal fabrication and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Gail Ellington Smith (Paul); His grandchildren Christopher Smith and Ashley Matthews (Dakota); His Great grandson Braydon Smith; Sister Rebecca Moseley (Jim Moseley); nephews Donald Moseley (Brenda), Randy Moseley (Tonia) and Keith Moseley (Sherry); Neice Kimberly Moseley; Great niece Tatum Deese; great, great nephew, Owen Deese.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert “Bobby” Ellington (Lucille); along with Jerline Wilson and Edith Ellington.

Memorial Services will be held in the fellowship hall of First Wesleyan Church located at 304 S. Anthony Street Burlington, NC 27215 on Friday April 12, 2024 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.  The family will receive guests prior to the service, between the hours of 11:00am – 1:00pm, at the home of Donna Gail located at 1306 Cleveland Avenue Burlington, NC 27217
