William A. Brooks Sr., 80 of Haw River died or passed away Friday May 29, 2020, at Authoracare Collective Hospice Home.

William A. Brooks Sr. was born in Alamance County on October 2, 1939 the son of Silas and Etta Brooks. He was employed as a textile over hauler for many years. He’s hobbies was hunting, fishing, and reading his bible.

Surviving by his wife Betty W. Brooks of Haw River, children Sherri McVey and husband John of Haw River, and Allen Brooks and wife, Melissa of Burlington, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great- grandchildren, brothers and sisters Mickey Brooks of Kernersville, NC, Shelby Clayton of Haw River, Sandy LaMontagne and husband, Art of Killington, VT, Susan Lester and husband, Bob of Melbourne FL, Vickie Miller and husband, Lambert of Graham.

A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 5, 2020 at Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Stephens and Dr. Wade Cox officiating. The family will receive friends after service.
