William Jennins Flynn, 98 of Burlington passed away at home on August 19, 2023.
William was born on November 15, 1924 a son of the late Lee Flynn and Mary Frazier Flynn. He was a US Navy World War II veteran and worked as a machinist for most of his career. William enjoyed working with his hands repairing lawn mowers and weed eaters for his neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Edna Louise Mansfield Flynn, a son, Richard Flynn, three brothers and his sister.
Surviving are his daughter Robin Brown (Mark); two sons, Gerald "Jerry" Flynn and Bobby Joe Flynn; a sister, Jeannett Rogers; four grandchildren, Mark Brown, Jr. (Cindy), Paul Brown (Kaitlin), Gerald Flynn, II and Terry Flynn (Lacy); twelve great grandchildren, Enya, Carmen, Olivia, Braydon, Cade, Ryker, Henry, Caroline, Malaya, Lanora, Anella and McKinley.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Rev. Tommy Cook officiating. Interment with military honors following the service will be at Bethel Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
