William “Billy” Lloyd Carden, 60, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
He was born on January 14, 1964 in Burlington, NC to the late William Milton Carden and Vickie Diane Cooley. For over 40 years, Billy worked as a paint contractor and barber. Fishing was his passion and he enjoyed spending time outdoors. Wherever Billy was, he was always tinkering and willing to do anything if asked. It was Billy's pleasure to tackle DIY projects to produce a perfected product. The Washington Redskins and the UNC Tarheels were his two most devoted teams, and he loved watching football games no matter who was playing. Moreover, he enjoyed watching Westerns on Sunday mornings and daily in the afternoons. A music enthusiast, Billy loved music. It was his love of music that kept him going through anything he was going through. No matter what he was doing, he was listening to his music, which covered many genres. Cooking and grilling were also hobbies that Billy enjoyed. Reading was one of Billy's favorite pastimes since he was young. Billy was a fighter, a survivor, and loved life to the fullest. In his heart, he held close to his faith and to his family, and he would do anything for the ones that he loved.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Jordan Noelle Carden of Greenville, NC; his father and stepmother, Calvin and Carol Jean Parrish of Kernersville; sister, Cissy Parrish of Winston Salem; brothers, Gene Parrish and wife Lisa of Kernersville, Jeff Parrish and wife Shelia of Goldsboro and Kevin Parrish of Kernersville; Nanette Fogleman, his devoted companion through thick and thin; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that cared for Billy, particularly in his final week. May God bless each one of you. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. You may share an online condolence by visiting www.omegafsc.com.
