Susie Virginia (Taunt) Petty

Susie Virginia Taunt Petty went to be with our Lord on Saturday June 4th, 2022, at 11:30am at Liberty Commons of Burlington. 

Susie, known to most as Sue, Nana, Nanny Sue, or Hoodie, was born in Guilford County on December 1st, 1936. Sue was the daughter of Vera and Charlie Taunt. She worked hard as a housewife and mother for the first part of her adult life and worked just as hard later in life as a krill operator at Upholstery Prints. Most of all she loved the few years she worked as a waitress. She loved a porch swing, a good book, a cup of HOT coffee, and don't forget the cigarette. As well as a good in-depth disagreement or conversation where two people could have their opinions without being offended or angered. But, most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, pouring her love and wisdom into their lives! She was a proud American who supported the troops with all her heart. A true patriot. 

Surviving are two sons, Steve, and Mike; a daughter Carol; grandchildren, Rudy, Shane, Stephanie, Kristy, and Amber; great grandchildren, Kairi, Raegan, and Calleigh Rose; a sister Willie Anne; her brother Ronnie Lynn as well as many others who love her and will miss her greatly. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Omega Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Byrd, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in memoriam to Wounded Warriors Project.
