Rebecca Corry Grob, 47, born 2/17/76 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany, died 8/10/23 in Durham, NC. Rebecca graduated from West High School, Madison, WI 1994 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Auburn University, Auburn, AL 1998. She worked at Measurements, Inc. in Durham, NC for over 20 years, last as a Network Operations Administrator.
Rebecca was a beautiful person. She lived a simple life, without ostentation and with little concern for the material. She had a curious intellect, and never tired of exploring new horizons. Her conversations were rich with ideas, clever interpretations and sprinkled with wit. Rebecca was a whiz at Jeopardy. The world will be a lesser place without her.
Rebecca was acutely aware of poverty and injustice in the world and donated generously to organizations that helped alleviate suffering. Her family is planning to establish a perpetual endowment in Rebecca’s name that will support her favorite charities and progressive causes.
Rebecca died as she lived, deliberately and with grace. May she rest in peace.
Rebecca is survived by her parents, Stephen C. Grob and Alice Ashman Malacara, her brother Jacob (Jaclyn) Grob and niece Kennedy, nephews Theo and Dax, and her sister, Zoe (Jan Siemaszko) Grob.
Arrangements are in the care of Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
