Miranda "Randi" Starr Kinder

My beautiful daughter, Miranda Starr Kinder, only 33, died May 24,2022 of a drug overdose at UNC Rex Hospital, Raleigh NC. She had been battling this devastating drug addiction disease for many years.

“Randi” was a generous, warm and caring person whose sense of humor often kept her sane and those around her laughing.

She is survived by a large tight-knit family including myself, her “Mombo”, Susan Gayle Kinder, a brother, Jason Brent Thomas, three awesome children, Ayden, Heather(Maddi) and Hunter; and two grandmothers, Anna Lois Collins and Delores Joanna Kinder. There are numerous other relatives----way too many to list, but she was loved by all.

Please understand the tragedy of this horrific disease and the traumatic impact it has on the individual and all those concerned. The person becomes someone you do not even recognize…you only feel the hurt, distrust and pain. This disease is REAL, no respecter of persons, very widespread and no mask can prevent it.

Randi’s life may have been short and not always sweet yet even in her demise it had purpose. She was a donor and actually saved four lives, one a teenager, which to us makes her a hero.

Randi may have given her heart, but she will always and forever remain in ours.
