Martha Jane Bowes, 76 of Burlington passed away on February 7, 2020 at her home.
Martha was born in Caswell County on May 14, 1943 the daughter of the late David James Thompson and Mariah Jordan Thompson. She was employed as a administrative assistant for many years in the financial industry and was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Darryl Lee Bowes.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years Albert Hassen Bowes, Jr. ; two sons, Dana Bowes (Michelle) and Douglas Dwayne Bowes (Renee); a daughter Dawn Westmoreland (Anthony); 13 grandchildren, Daniel Bowes, Christina Taylor, Dustin Bowes, Tia Bracken, Scottie Strickland, Deanna Capell, Dalton Bowes, Delilah Bowes, Drake Bowes, Daisy Bowes, Mariah Westmoreland, Mackenzie Westmoreland and Dakota Westmoreland; five great grandchildren, Amelia Taylor, Claire Bracken, Jennings Capell, Hailey Hendricks and Gracie Hendricks; three brothers, David Thompson, Curtis Thompson and Jerry Thompson; and three sisters, Louise Blaylock, Hazel Self and Mary Ellen Ball.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cooper Cemetery. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com. Arrangements are in the care of Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
