Lonnie “Mike” Simmons, 63, passed away Saturday October 10,2020 at Alamance Regional Medical
Center.

Mike was raised in Hope Mills, NC, but was born in Independence, LA on October 13, 1956, the son of
Lonnie Simmons and the late Isabel Skelton Simmons. He was employed as a grocery stocker for many
years, but most importantly he loved Jesus Christ and his family. He fought brain tumors from 2004-
2020 to spend more time with his family. He treated each day as a gift from the Lord.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Julia Ann Simmons of Mebane, NC. His children, a late son Shawn
Michael Simmons, a daughter, Stephanie Nicole Simmons, of Mebane, NC. A brother, Gene Simmons of
Hope Mills, NC and wife Karen Simmons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Angels Among Us at Duke Cancer Center. Gifts can be
