Linda McAllister Obituary

Burlington,
Linda Ann Bray McAllister, 63 of Burlington passed away on November 14, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center.

Linda was born in Alamance County on July 25, 1958 a daughter of the late Walter Thomas Bray and Lillian Blackwood Bray. She was employed as a Lab Assistant with LabCorp and was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchild ‘Rachel’ who she often mentored and comforted. Linda spent a lot of time caring for her family and her son and daughter that lived with and endured depression and anxiety. She was the sunshine that brightened all of our days and withheld the gloom of her own darkness. She was the most selfless person you could ever be graced by. She had a deep emotional understanding of music and the depths in which music held. We will most definitely miss her cooking. But she also upheld the greatest creations in her crocheting. The art that was woven by her own hands many will hold dear to their hearts and will keep them warm and comforted. She too enjoyed a warm blanket and an episode or two of The Office. She was a woman that was selfless, down to earth and as gentle as any soul you will ever meet. She was known as Miss Linda but to us she was mom.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Bray, Thomas Bray and Ronnie Blackwood and a sister Alice Hodge.

Surviving are her former husband George McAllister; a daughter Marcia Brown (Preston); her son Marcus McAllister; a grand daughter Rachel Brown and several other family members and friends.
