Lawrence Douglas Miller, age 79 of Hillsborough passed away from a long battle with
Parkinson’d Disease at 9:30 in the morning on February the 2nd at the SECU Jim and Betsy
Bryan Hospice Home of UNC. He had been surrounded by his close friends, daughter, and
former family in his final days.
Lawrence was born in Chicago, IL on July 24th, 1943, the first child and son of Don and Lois
Miller. He offered herbal healing consultations to his community for many years. Later he opened a
successful new age retail shop in Durham, NC. Lawrence had a vast knowledge of gemstones,
was an avid gardener, maker and player of musical instruments, including the didjeridoo, and
had a love for the great outdoors.
He was married twice and is survived by his daughter Melody Miller, from first wife, Mindy Kash.
