Joyce Alston, 69 of Mebane passed away on August 25, 2018 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell. 

Joyce was born in Orange County on February 28, 1949 the daughter of the late Claude William Mebane and Ollie Hester Mebane. She was employed with Mebane Packaging for many years until she began working for Alamance County Schools as a cook. Joyce enjoyed cooking and gardening but especially loved caring for her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a three brothers, Tony, Fredrick and Victor Mebane. 

Surviving are her husband Rezelle Alston, Jr. of the home; three sons, Nate Mebane (Vanessa), Adam Mebane, Reginald Mebane (Angela) ; one daughter, Tammy Mebane; step children Rezelle Alston, III (Michelle) and Pam Mebane; a brother Jeff Mebane; 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 1 pm on Saturday at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. The family will hold Repast following the service at the church. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com. Arrangements are in the care of Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
