John Roland Wright, Jr., 74 passed away on Saturday September 15, 2018 at Moses Cone Medical Center in Greensboro.
John was born in Chatham County on July 22, 1944 the son of the late John Roland Wright, Sr. and Dorothy Viola Murchison Wright. He was a self employed brick mason and loved Nascar and dirt track racing. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by a sister Wanda Sharpe and two brothers James and George Wright.
Surviving are his wife Darlene Wright; daughter Lisha Mabe (late Harry) of McLeansville; a sister Pearl Hanna (Ron) of Indian Trail; two brothers, Earl Wright of Charlotte and Ronnie Wright (Angie) of Burlington; two grandchildren, Dylan Mabe of McLeansville and Staff Sgt. Justin Mabe US Army (Megan) of Lindon.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 pm on Thursday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
