Jerry Wayne Barker Jr, age 31, passed away on June 4, 2020 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Jerry was born on July 25th 1988 in Smithfield, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his Father Jerry Wayne Barker Sr and his Mother Gloria Jean Barker.
Jerry is survived by his fiancé, Rebecca Jones & daughter, Aubrey Barker of Mebane, NC; brother, Douglas Barker and his wife Kayla Barker of Snow Camp, NC; sister, Stacy Braid and her husband Larry Braid, of Lagrange, Indiana & brother, William Pollard of Wilson Mills, NC
Jerry loved to live life freely. He was courageous, fearless and genuine. He never met a stranger anywhere he went. He was a devoted and loving father and a protector of his family. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do for anyone if they were in need. He loved his daughter and planned to be there for every milestone in her life. He was our wild, Aubrey was our crazy and his fiance was their sane. Jerry would be so happy knowing that the people he cared so much about are remaining close to one another and celebrate him and the legacy that he leaves behind.
The family is having a small memorial Saturday, June 13th at 11 am at Mt Zion Church of Mebane, NC. Due to the Coronavirus restrictions only immediate family members will be sitting together at the ceremony, but family and friends are welcome and encouraged to join outside the church in your car and listen to the service through your car radio. After the memorial the family will host friends and family at Douglas’s house for a “Celebration of Life” to honor Jerry.
