Jim Vatty, 79, of Burlington, NC, formerly of Euclid, OH, passed away Jan. 5, 2020, at White Oak Manor. He was born July 14, 1940, in Cleveland, OH, the son of the late Emery James Vatty and the late Margaret Juhasz Vatty. He worked as a programmer and computer consultant for several companies, including White Motor and Pipe Machinery. His interests were reading, collecting books and fanatically following sports—as an especially avid fan of the Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. Survivors include his son, James R. (Telsy) Vatty of Graham, NC, grandchildren Nicole Giverdon (John) of CT, Jared Vatty of NC, and Elizebeth Rowan of OH, daughter Jill Cook of Eastlake, OH and grandchildren Isaac and Amanda Cook of California, sister Rosemary (Ray) McAtee and nephews David and Dan McAtee of Cottonwood Heights, UT, and former wife, Judie Vannatter and her son Joseph of Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents and his infant granddaughter, Kristin Renee Cook. He was especially appreciative of the supportive friendship of Tony Syracuse of Chardon and for the loving care and devotion provided during his last years by his daughter-in-law Telsy.
