Elon,
James "Jim" Grant Cooper, 71, of Elon passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Jim was born in Guilford County on May 21, 1951 a son of the late George Washinton Cooper and Ruth Avlee Coe Cooper. He was employed as a mechanic working with electrical motors. Jim was a member of Faith Baptist Church for 19 years where he was a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and sometimes a service leader.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Cooper and his sister, Patti Glosson.
Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Judy Edmonds Cooper; two children, Tim Chambers (Pam) and Joel Chambers (Becky); six grandchildren, Jon Martin, Jamie Broughman, Jacob Chambers, Gunner Cooper, Matthew Cooper and Alston Chambers; and a brother Wayne Cooper.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Glen Raven Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with Rev. Bobby Fann and Rev. Sean Fitzgerald officiating.
