James "CJ" Pettiford

Mr. James (C J) Pettiford, son of the late James Ira Pettiford and Beatrice Hester passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at White Oak Manor. 

CJ was born in Person County August 17, 1944, and received his education in the Orange County School System. He worked as a General Contractor most of his life until his health declined.  He was married to Corlene Pettiford and has one daughter Pamela Pettiford.

He was preceded in death by his father Mr. James Ira Pettiford; his mother Beatrice Hester, a brother Cavell Fuller and three sisters: Mrs. Laura Terry, Mrs. Stella Pettiford, and Mrs. Barbara Daye.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers: James Ray Pettiford (Alease) of Pleasant Grove, NC.  Leon Hester of Cedar Grove, NC and Stacy Hester of Roxboro, NC.  Three sisters, Lenda Pettiford (Willie) of Cedar Grove, NC.  Maxcine Barnes (Butch) of Pittsboro, NC and  Audrey Craig (Darryl) of Mebane, NC and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives.

A Home Going Celebration will be held at Omega Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 26, 2022, at 1:00pm. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the service time prior to the service at the funeral home and all other times at the home of Lenda Pettiford 9004 Art Road, Cedar Grove, NC  27231.
