James Richard Owen, 68 of Haw River passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2020, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

James was born in Mebane on September 4, 1952, the son of the late Albert Owen, Jr. and Mary Thorton Owen. James was a US Airforce Veteran who served his country proudly. He worked for many years at Interstate Narrow Fabrics where he was known to be a hard worker. The passing of a loved one is one of life's most difficult challenges. The pain is overwhelming. You will always be with us. James, you will always have my heart. We will miss you more than words can express. There is a loss that only you can fill. We will miss your presence, your smile, your laugh, and your childhood stories. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy, Timmy, and Paul Owen as well as his half brothers, Kenneth and Dale Holmes.  

Surviving is his loving wife of 49 years, Rose Hicks Owen; two sons, Jamie Owen and Alex Owen, and Alex's wife Nicole Owen as well as numerous extended family and friends

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Rev. Stephen Hall officiating. Military honors conducted by Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Honor Guard will follow the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
