Hilda Kay Hester

Hilda Kay Hester, 73 of Cornelius formerly of Burlington passed away on March 13, 2021 at Novant Huntersville Medical Center. 

Hilda was born in Alamance County on October 21, 1947 the daughter of Clyde Vance and Hilda Shoffner Vance. She was employed as an LPN for the US Army for many years and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was an active member of her church, First Wesleyan Church, in Burlington NC. She was a wonderful Christian lady, with a big heart for others, and never met a stranger. She was an avid animal lover, enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. Loved annual family beach trips.

Surviving are her beloved furry companion Molly (Boston Terrier); one son, Jeff Blythe (Paula); a daughter, Angela Blythe Stenhouse (Tom); seven grandchildren, Brittany Boydstun Coachman (Brandon), Melissa Boydstun Giomblanco (Pietro), Gabe Blythe, Kayley Blythe, Olivia Christopher, Allison Stenhouse and Madeline Stenhouse; three great grandchildren, Elijah Coachman, Amiah Coachman and Gianluca Giomblanco; two brothers, Clyde Ray Vance (Dianne) and J.B. Vance (Jeanne); three sisters, Diane Vance Allen, Linda Jo McVey and Geraldine Jerri Vance as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. 

A private for family only Celebration of Life Service will be held 7 pm on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm prior to the private family service at the funeral home. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com
