Harold Stephen MacDonald (Hal), 58 of Burlington NC, passed away peacefully at home on Friday March 6th 2020.

Hal was born in Blue Hill, Maine on 12/02/1961 the son of Russell and Elizabeth MacDonald (Amazeen). They later moved to East Hartford Connecticut, where he spent the majority of his life before living briefly in Massachusetts and lastly in Burlington NC. He was employed as a long haul truck driver for over 30 years, and proudly drove over two million miles accident free. He had a personality as loud as his Harley, and a wit that was just as quick. He enjoyed camping, bowling, shooting, collecting model tractor trailers and the occasional shot of whiskey. He lived by his own terms and he was surely a force to be reckoned with.

Surviving are his long-time girlfriend and gracious care giver Lauralee Sparks of Burlington, NC. Children Kristen Soovajian (William Soovajian)- Vernon CT, Tara Getchell (Fred Tyrseck)- Marlborough CT and Ashley Grant (Joseph Barcomb)- Burlington NC, grandchildren Angel Cruz, Alex Cruz, Jayden Spaulding, Shayla Grant and Avery Getchell, great grandchildren Coraline Perkins and Jaxsyn Cruz, sister Mellanie Smedberg (Frank Smedberg)-Burlington NC, niece and nephew Marcie Pelletier and Dalton Smedberg  and his father Russell MacDonald- Marlborough CT. He is predeceased by his infant daughter Nichol Lee West and his mother Elizabeth.
