George Edward Kaffenberger

1943 - 2021

Born and raised in Philly but lived life in Graham and Mebane NC.

George E Kaffenberger Jr, 77 of Mebane NC, passed away after years of failing health, but never lost his humor, on Sunday March 28, 2021.

George wrote his own final words below:

Well, if you are reading this you can guess, I have gone on to the other side, I’ve met my maker.

I was preceded in death by my wife of over 50 years, Katherine Kaffenberger.  I am leaving behind our three sons: Kevin, his wife Penny; Richard, his wife Jennifer; Michael, his wife Angel.  I also leave behind five grandchildren: Britt, Abigail, Storm, Cana, and Carter.

I want to say thank you to Kevin, Penny and Storm for taking care of me over the past four years and for taking care of Katherine during her time of illness.

And to my Pastor, David “Pope” Jackson, thank you for being a wonderful pastor to my family.  You were my pastor, but so much more to me.  You were my best friend and little brother.  Thank you, “Pope”.

Love all of you, see you on the other side.  George

We will not have any service as George didn’t want one.  His final wish was for everyone to go out to eat and just have fond memories of him. He will pick up the bill if you can find him.  You are on the right side then if you do!

George was one special man and he was very special to me. He's wit and dry humor were what made him so lovable. There are few words to express the love I had for him and Momma K. They held mold be into who I am today in how they loved others. Not to mention the Christian influence they had in my life. My relationship with Jesus grew with their devotion and example. I'll hold onto my precious memories and will look forward to the day I see them again. I can see Kathy standing there saying, George your finally home. Prayers and blessing's to Kevin, Richard, and Michael with their families. Much love! Kim Price Foust

I'm so sorry to hear of George's passing. He was such a good man and I can't help but think of Kathy waiting to meet him.  Reading his final words was really amazing. He loved his family. Praying for all of you!

I always liked visiting George and Kathy. They had a warm and welcoming home. He seemed to always find humor in a lot of situations. I will truly miss him even though I didn’t get to visit as often as I should have. Many prayers for the family and I know I will see George and Kathy again I am on the right side!
