Gene Matthew Goodman

Gene Matthew Goodman, 81, of Gibsonville, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Ruth Goodman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his five siblings, one son, Dave Agner and one grandchild, Joshua Agner.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Ruth Goodman; children, Jeff Harris, Ruth (and Ray) Pruitt, Jeffery (and Olga) Agner, and Matthew (and Rachel) Agner; grandchildren, Corey Harris, Benji, David & Alex Pruitt, Juliet (and Adam) Sindermann & Michael Agner, Timothy (and Hope), Andrew (and Katherine), Jacob & Micah Agner; and his 4-legged companion, Snoopy.

Gene held various jobs throughout Alamance County and participated in many local sports. He loved God, his family, his church and UNC basketball.  A gathering of family and friends will be held at Hope Church on 1606 West Davis Street in Burlington on Wednesday, October 25 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
