Floyd Garland Johnson, Sr., 89 of Franklinville passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2023.

Floyd was born in Davie County on August 9,1934 a son of the late Floyd Richard Johnson and Bessie Brindle Johnson. He was a US Navy and US Army Veteran and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Zellen Farmer Johnson, and son Floyd Johnson, Jr. . sisters Nelva Johnson, Betty Moore and two brothers, Glenn Johnson and Charlie Johnson.

Surviving are two daughters, Doris Sontag and Lois Johnson; and daughter-in-law Tish Johnson, Brother Jimmy Johnson (Darlene), five grandchildren, Roger Martin, Matthew Johnson (Alicia), Heather Cody, Bill Glaspey (Jackie) and Forrest Glaspey; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Monday at Kime Family Cemetery with Pastor Tony Fletcher officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the family for Floyds final care.
