Floyd "Carson" Gerringer, 73 of Gibsonville passed away peacefully on Monday June 7, 2021 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Floyd was born in Alamance County on May 13, 1948 the son of the late Floyd Harmon Gerringer and Gloria Garner Gerringer. He worked as a machine operator in the textile industry and besides his family, hunting and fishing was Carson's life. In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Johnson Gerringer, a son Robert Gerringer and a sister Helen Gerringer.
Surviving are three daughters, Debbie Gerringer, Sharon Hines (Dennis) and Dianne Gerringer; a son, Rickie Gerringer; five grandchildren, Danielle Hines, Betty Anne Proffit, William Hines (Shawney), Brittany Hines and Bradley Britton; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Chester Gerringer (Faye) and Steve Gerringer; two sisters, Thelma Helbert (late Bobby) and Teresa Smithey (late Joe);his nephew who was like a son Bobby Ellis and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 pm on Friday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with William Hines officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Alamance Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, June 14, 2021.
