Eric Edward Barbour

Eric Edward Barbour 64, of Burlington passed away November 9, 2023 at home. 

Eric was a native of Burlington, graduated from Cummings High School and served for four years in the US Army in transportation. After his service Eric worked many years in the trucking industry and most recently was employed in security at Honda Aero. Eric was interested in NASCAR, college sports especially Duke basketball, and spending time with his family including his rescue cat Mia.

Eric was married and is survived by his wife Brenda Stilley Barbour of the home. He is also survived by his daughters Amanda Hurlocker and Rebecca Barbour, grandchildren Carrie Hurlocker, Kaylee Hurlocker and Abel Frazier, all of Alamance County. Additionally he is survived by sisters, Vicki McPherson (Tom) of Elon, Joni Newell (Tim) of Wendell, NC and Andrea Johnson of Cullowhee, NC. Eric was preceded in death by his parents Vass A Barbour Jr and Julie P Barbour.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 18 at Northside Presbyterian Church at 1805 Vaughn Rd, Burlington NC at 2:00 pm by Rev Jim Mitchell. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Burlington Animal Services at 221 Stone Quarry Rd, Burlington, NC 27217. Arrangements are in the care of Omega Funeral Service & Crematory.
