Elizabeth Wagoner Thompson (better known as Tootie) 88 of Burlington (formerly of Haw River) passed away on Friday, July 16th at the Hospice Home of Burlington.
Elizabeth was born in Burlington on June 30, 1933 to the late Ernest & Ruby Wagoner. She was a homemaker who loved her family very much and was a special Granny to her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dale (Linda) Thompson, David (Elaine) Thompson and daughter, Debbie (Les) Small, grandchildren, Emily Thompson (Adam) McCoy and Scotti (Ashley) Thompson, great grandchildren, Tyler Strickland, Noah McCoy, Grant Thompson and Griffin Thompson. Step-grandchildren, Shane (Rhian) Hardee, Chad Hardee and Jonni (Glenn) Snyder, step great grandchildren, Lillie Hardee, Cole Hardee and Tayson Snyder, and many extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her spouse Albert (Rusty) Thompson, Jr. to whom she was married for 64 years and a son Todd Thompson. Brothers, Ernest and William (Billy) Wagoner.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver Sue Chapman who took care of her for several years and to the wonderful staff at the Hospice Home who lovingly cared for her during her last days on this earth.
At the family’s request there will be no service. The family will be at the home of her son David.
