Edward Ronald Clapp

Edward Ronald Clapp, 80, of Liberty passed away Monday, January 16, 2023.

A native of Guilford County and a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the son of Vance and Willie Clapp, both deceased. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Proctor and Gamble in Greensboro, NC.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Clapp Ray and husband Dennis of Liberty; three grandchildren, Holli Johnson and husband Ronnie of Liberty; Seth Welker and wife Amanda of Julian, and Katie Brown of Burlington; three great-grandchildren Cylee Welker, Sawyer Welker, and William Welker; four sisters Carolyn Wimbish of Burlington, Vangie Clapp of Liberty, Bobbie Clapp of Liberty, and Fran Clapp Cook and husband Doug of Liberty; two brothers, Don Clapp of Liberty, and John Clapp and wife Sylvia of Little Rock, AR; Sister-in-law Norma Clapp of Liberty as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Wayne Gerringer and wife Anne of Cypress, CA, Billy Clapp of Liberty, and Jack Clapp Sr. and wife Linda of Liberty; and one
sister Linda Clapp Miller of Liberty.
