Dean Wesley Wright

Dean Wesley Wright was born October 14, 1934 in Cokato, Minnesota to E.L. “Tib” and Adalyn (Eckstrom) Wright.

He grew up on the family farm and then attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army, and served twenty-six years on active duty before retiring with the rank of Colonel. During his career he received an MBA from the American University and attended the US Command and General Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. His highest military honors were three Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit.

Following his retirement from the military, Dean worked in financial management and formed his own investment management company. Dean was an Eagle Scout. He loved being outdoors and shared this love with others.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was a lifelong Christian committed to The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dean and Kathryn Ann Skrukrud were married on September 22, 1957.

He is survived by Kathryn, and by his son Jonathan (Kathleen) Wright of Redondo Beach, CA and his daughter Anastasia Anderson of Chapel Hill, NC, and by four grandchildren: Caitlin
Wright, Mark Wright, Amelia Anderson and Aidan Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy of North Carolina.
