Chris Lewis Evans, Jr.

Christopher Lewis Evans Jr, 68, a native of Louisville KY. and a 19 year resident of Burlington NC. He was peacefully welcomed to his eternal home on May 17, 2023. Chris was surrounded by his family, and a precious brother in the Lord Mark Wallace  and his daughter Katlyn from KY. Chris had been visited and loved on for several weeks prior to his passing by his family in God from Just Like Jesus Ministries as well as many neighbors and friends. 

Chris was born on May 3,1955. He was the only son of the late C.L. Evans, Sr. and Agnes Renavay McCarty. 

He was a truck driver for over 30 years. Following his retirement from Wicker Services Chris worked at Harris Teeter as a produce clerk. He loved people never meeting a stranger, and if you were blessed to have met him you would have certainly heard about God and his son Jesus Christ, the baptism of the Holy Ghost, and his many healings in the past, including a 2016 diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. His life was all about God! His home was a house of refuge, helping many hurting and needy people over the past 19 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcella Case and Christine Burton of Louisville KY. 

Chris is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen Roberts Evans, 2 sisters, Oma Faye Whitaker and Marie Wilson both of Louisville KY. A son Anthony Evans (Anna), of IN., 2 daughters, Jammie Curtsinger (Paul), and Wendy Jo Evans Arnold (David), both of Graham. He raised two grandsons Michael and Zachary Evans who he considered his sons. Chris was the grandfather of 9, Haley, Logan, and Dakota Evans, Jacob, Noah, Luke,  and Eden Curtsinger. As well as 3 great grandchildren Araya Rose, Noah Reed, and Paisley Jo. And many nieces and nephews.

We invite you to join us in worship as we celebrate the life of Chris on Sunday, May 28th, at 10 am at Just Like Jesus Ministries  2420 A Corporation Parkway, Burlington,  NC.

There will be a fellowship meal immediately following the service.
