Charles Marshall Hurley, 66, of Burlington, NC, died on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC of complications following surgery to remove a benign brain tumor.
He was born on February 29, 1956 to Pauline Welch Hurley and Manley Banks Hurley, Sr.
Marshall was predeceased by his parents and grandparents Charles and Minnie Hurley and Olan and Lena Welch, sister Pamela Hurley, and nephew Andrew Marshall Mock. Surviving family members include his sons Joey (Lauren) Blanchard, and Cody Newton Hurley; sisters Becky Hurley Mock (John), Vickie Hurley Maxwell, and brother Manley Banks Hurley, Jr. He also leaves behind many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends too numerous to list.
Marshall was in the US Army 82nd Airborne, a Grenadier with Company B, 2nd Battalion of the Division’s 505th Infantry from 1976 to 1979. He was honored to participate in the inauguration of Jimmy Carter in Washington, DC.
A graduate of Alamance Community College with a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning, Marshall owned and operated Hurley Heating and Air Conditioning for many years.
In accordance with Marshall’s wishes, his body will be cremated and there will be no funeral service. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery where his remains will be interred at the family gravesite.
