Charles Ray Reaves, 68, of Burlington passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2020 from esophageal cancer.
Charles was born in Person County on June 11, 1951, the son of the late Elvin William Reaves, Sr. and Frances Lunsford Reaves. He was the owner and operator of C.R. Reaves Electrical Service and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family and on occasion loved to fish with his grandsons. When he wasn’t working, you could find Charles sitting outside drinking his coffee or listening to his favorite country music. During his sickness, he grew to like the History and Smithsonian channels along with crime tv and Judge Judy. He also kept up with current politics and was a proud American and Trump supporter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Elvin William "Billy" Reaves, Jr. and three sisters, Kathy Wilson, Frances "Tootie" Brooks and Peggy Futrell. On November 22, 1969 he married his wife of 50 years, Sue Weadon Reaves who survives him.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sue are three daughters, Tracy Dixon (Tommy) of Mebane, Rhonda Reaves of Charlotte and Amanda Reaves of Cary; eight grandchildren, Lauren Libbey, Leaha Libbey, Jake Libbey, Chloe Pressly, Blythe Pressly, Emery Pressly, Sierra Brown and Braxton Reaves; three sisters, Shirley Manning (Nick), Vickie Teague (Gene) and Shelby Temple; and one brother, Ted Reaves (Leann).
