Charity Earnestine Nash died on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Authora Care - Hospice House of Burlington, NC.
Charity was born on February 25, 1942 in Palm Beach County (Bryant), Florida to George & Mary “Mae” Lizzie Murph. Charity was affectionately known as “Emma”, “Sweet Bug”, “Sweet Charity” and “Mama Nash”.
After graduating from Gibbs Junior College, where she received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, she worked as a teacher. She was later employed at the Aldens Catalog Warehouse as a clerk. She also spent time working for Illinois Department of Rehabilitation as a Caregiver and a home maker. Her most notable career started when she dedicated her life as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972. She served as a Regular Pioneer for nearly 40 years, devoting many hours to preaching & teaching from the Bible. Charity was able to help many to come to know about her Almighty God Jehovah. Many have expressed fond memories of working alongside her in this cherished ministry.
On January 22, 1968, Charity married the love of her life & high school sweetheart, Jasper Nash. They both resided in Chicago, Illinois from that point until December of 2006. During that time, she bore two daughters, Sonja Renee & Rhonda Denice.
Charity loved the ministry and her friends dearly. She loved to dance, talk with her relatives and be with her beloved husband “Jap”, as he was nicknamed. She was known to be a jokester of sorts and brought laughter to many. She had a way of making anyone feel special and never met a stranger. When visiting Florida, she would always make sure she got her hands on some mangos. This pleased her very much.
Surviving are her husband, Jasper Nash of Greensboro, NC, Daughters Sonja Renee Nash of Raleigh, NC and Rhonda Denice Holt (Joseph) of Mebane, NC; Sisters Naomi Harper of Atlanta, GA and Veronica Murph of St. Petersburg, FL as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & other relatives.
Memorial Service Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 5:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 6320 Fox Road Raleigh, NC 27616
