Carolyn Jean Baker York, 76 of Burlington passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023 at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home.
Carolyn was born in Alamance County on January 17, 1947 a daughter of the late James Monroe Baker, Sr. and Margaret Tingen Baker. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Carolyn was maw-maw to many children and she was looking forward to meeting her first great grand daughter Arabella. She loved to travel, especially to the beach and the mountains. Carolyn loved music, dancing and crocheting and worked in hosiery and textiles for over 40 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, LP "Bud" Allmond, a granddaughter, Ashley Ann Hodges, sisters Janie Sue May, Juanita King and Cornelia Baker Herring as well as her brother James Monroe Baker, Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Wendy Hodges (Brian Russell) and Kim Rigney; three grandchildren, Jonathan Hodges (Ally Yow), Jessica Boothe (Brent) and Camryn Rigney; three brothers, Harvey Baker (Judy), William Baker (Marie) and Nathan Baker (Goldie) as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Chaplain April Rhinehardt officiating.
