Calvin Wallace "Wally" Quakenbush

Calvin Wallace "Wally" Quakenbush, 77 of Graham passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2022 surrounded by family. 

Wally was born on July 27, 1944 a son of the late Twyman and Gayrene Johnson Quakenbush. He worked at Carolina Biological for most of his career and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He enjoyed genealogy and history and cared for the community by teaching Sunday school and leading a Boy Scout troop. He was honored to be a historian for the Saxapahaw Museum

Surviving is his wife of 58 years Carol Quakenbush; two children, Brian Quakenbush (Jenny), of Roanoke, Virginia, and Carla McVey (Darrell) of Snow Camp; five grandchildren, Jason Quakenbush, Sam Quakenbush and Andrew Quakenbush, Amy Allison (John) and Nicholas McVey (Brittany); four great grandchildren, Shawn McVey, Jackson McVey, Tysor McVey and Annemarie Allison as well as numerous other family members and friends. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 pm on June 2, 2022 at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
