Brodie Holt Allen, passed away May 4, 2022 after fighting cancer for 2 years.
He was born May 21, 1946 to Clyde and Hazel (Crabtree) Allen, both deceased.
Raised on a tobacco farm, he embraced the value of hard work and carried that work ethic in his job at Wicker Trucking until his retirement. Brodie had the kindest, sweetest soul and was the best example of humanity. He was completely devoted to those he loved and never failed to answer a call for help from anyone. He always put others first. He enjoyed spoiling his precious dog Buffy who was his anchor and loyal sidekick. He loved feeding his birds, mowing his yard and watching his Tarheels and Yankees play ball.
Brodie is survived by his loving daughter Teresa Welch, son in law Shawn Welch
Grandchildren Lynn Mitchell and Zack Welch and great granddaughter Kaylynn Mitchell brothers: J.W. Allen (Chippy) Donald Allen (Margaret) Lonnie Allen and sister Marie Fholer (Chris); many special nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his wife Betty J. Allen, brothers Ronald Allen, Larry Allen, Stanley Allen sister Sheryl Wilson, and numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends will gather at 3947 Hwy 119 North in Mebane on Brodie’s birthday May 21st at 11 am to celebrate the gift Brodie was to all and to celebrate his life well lived. The celebration will be outdoors so please dress casually and comfortably and wear your favorite Tarheel gear.
In lieu of flowers, Brodie would be pleased if you supported your local animal rescue or plant a tree or flowers to honor his memory.
The family would like to thank Vanessa, Jordan, Sharon And Sarah for the love and care they showed our sweet brother.
