Brent Neal Foster

Brent Neal Foster, of Mebane, NC peacefully passed on April 19, 2022, at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC while under hospice care. He is now in heaven with Jesus and his Mother, who preceded him in passing just 40 days ago.

Brent was an outspoken individual, who lived a life of tremendous kindness and great compassion for humanity and all God’s creation. Brent’s personality was such that he could strike a conversation with a complete stranger, and later become very good friends. He had the ability to empathize with anyone’s situation, sharing similar experiences with complete honesty, eventually finding the right words at the right moment that could bring a smile or a laugh of relief. This was Brent. His nature and demeanor was like a magnet, drawing you in, not only to him, but closer to your own sense of self-worth emanating total respect and dignity. His wit, charm and sense of humor always made you feel included, important and full of happiness. He was a great big brother to all, and loved all his family immensely.

Brent graduated the Class of 1974 at Northern Nash High School in Rocky Mount, NC. He loved music and played in a couple different bands during his teenage years. There was one particular place called the ‘Band Shack’ off Hunter Hill Road behind Northern Nash High School where many friends and family gathered to celebrate great times and great music.

Brent was very well educated and very quick to learn and perceive any situation that required quick resolution. His military training in the USAF as a communications specialist, allowed him many excellent opportunities in advancing his career as a leader in the data side of early IT infrastructure, which helped to build and connect the corporate world during his civilian tenure. Brent was one the pioneers of the internet, and later ventured in systems integration engineering. Thank you for your service, your knowledge, your wisdom, your kindness and especially your passion and faith.

Brent will be truly missed.

Survivors include his daughter, Jessica Nicole Foster (Ty Gardner); siblings, Jonathan Lee Foster, Van Curt Foster (Dotty) and Sabrina Webb Jacunski (Adam); Step-father, Edward E. Webb; nephews, Daniel Foster (Josette), Joshua Foster (Kaitlin), Addison Jacunski (Julia) and Andrew Jacunski (Mariah); grand-nephew, Wyatt Foster; grand-niece, Rebecca Foster; Aunt, Cheryl Macias (who was like a big sister); and Uncle, Lyman Hall (Theda); and many, many cousins, including sister in-law, Betty Motley; brothers in-law, Mike and Bobby Bradford; niece in-law Tara Whitt (Darin); nephew in-law, Michael Motley (Gabby); great-niece in-law, Sofia Motley; and great-nephew in-law Brayden Flye; Step-aunts, Mildred Aycock, Lou Ford (Scott); step-Uncles, Steve Lassiter (Charisse) and Roy Lassiter (Marie); step-brother, Michael Braddy (Cindy) and step-sister, Susan Rominger (Lawrence); step-nephews, Austin & Holden Rominger, DJ Webb; and step-nieces, Hanna Grey Jackson and Brittnay Braddy (Daniel and baby Jonathan Leo)

Preceding Brent in passing is Cynthia Carol Bradford Foster (wife); Joyce Elaine Hall Webb (mother); Erie Hall (grandmother); Louis Hall Jr. (uncle); great-grandparents, Thomas Luttrell (Oda); and many aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

There will be a celebration of Brent’s life sometime over the next few months when family and friends can gather safely.
