Billy Anderson Woods, 74, of Rougemont passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Duke University Medical Center.

Billy was born in Alamance County on February 26, 1949, a son of the late Henry Woods and Margaret Boswell Woods. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed working on his cars, bowling and was a true family man. He was employed as a welder and did metal fabrication which allowed him to make his own dune buggy from an old Volkswagen Bug.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his nephew Andrew Tapp.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Woods (Anita) and Todd Woods (Tonya); four grandchildren, Samantha, Kaleb, Bryce and Braylee; his sister Laura Woods Tapp (Donald); his brother Charlie Woods; nieces, Amanda Tapp and Angela Smith; great nieces, Brooke King and Briana Smith; and three great nephews, Kooper Lee, Jaxon and Tripp Tapp. 

A celebration of Billy's life will be held at 2 pm on Friday at Welcome Baptist Church in Hillsborough.
