Haw River,

Zena Ashby Ward, 54 of Haw River passed away on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at UNC Healthcare Chapel Hill. 

Zena was born in Alamance County on December 2, 1963 the daughter of the late Tony Ashby and Ruby Burden Asby. Zena worked in healthcare and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Phillip Ward and a sister Tammy Ashby. 

Surviving are her husband of 33 years Mark Ward,Sr. of the home; a son Mark Ward, Jr. of Burlington; a daughter Brandie Scott of Henderson; a brother Tony Clark Ashby, Jr. of Alabama; 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday December 23rd at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com.
