Blanch,
Sarah Winstead Bradsher, aged 69, died peacefully at home on October 20, 2018 after a determined struggle with cancer. Sarah was born November 9, 1948 in Roxboro, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Carl C. Winstead and Emma Dean Rogers Winstead.
In 1969, Sarah married John M. Bradsher. She graduated from Person County High and Meredith College, and then earned her masters of math from UNC at Greensboro. Over the years, she taught math with Person County Schools, Piedmont Academy, Danville Community College, and Caswell County Schools. She and John made their home in Blanch, NC.
After retiring from teaching she enjoyed working out at the Danville YMCA, home-schooling her grandchildren, and volunteering services in her community. She was an active member of Purley United Methodist Church and an avid Reiki Master.
Besides her husband John, Sarah is also survived by her two daughters, Molly Bradsher Briggs and husband Emil L. Briggs of Raleigh, NC, and Emily W. Bradsher of Blanch, NC; two sisters, Carol and her husband Richard Dickerson and Lura Dean W. Stagg of Hershey, PA; mother-in-law Martha M. Bradsher, and three grandchildren, Emma L. Briggs, Jade S. Bradsher, and Lexi G. Bradsher; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
The family will be at home. There will be a memorial service at Purley United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11:00am . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society or Purley United Methodist Church in care of Mary Ellen Myers, 4560 Old NC Hwy 86, Yanceyville, NC 27379.
