Mebane,
Ruth Lee Phillips, 69, a resident of Johnson City, Tennessee but residing in North Carolina with her daughters, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at ARMC.
Ruth was born in McDowell County, West Virginia on October 13, 1947 the daughter of the late Kaiser William Phillips and Minnie Mullins Phillips. She worked as a home health aide for many years caring for the elderly and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Mandy Kordova and an infant brother.
Surviving are two daughters, Regina Kidd and husband Mike of Durham and Gwendolyn Cloutier of Mebane; two sons, Randy Kibort and Ryan Kibort of Bulls Gap, TN; a sister Sandy Gazier of Alabama; a brother Eddie Phillips of Lakewood, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Katelyn, Aaron, Savannah, Garrett, Grant, Randall, Samantha, Jennee, Ciara, Lucas, Lance and Lee; one great grandson Cayden and her best friend and companion Tom Johnson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at First Pentecostal Church of Durham, 2008 Carver Street, Durham, NC 27705. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Mebane Memorial Park. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com.
