Robert Earl Simpson, 67 of Burlington passed away on October 3, 2019 at Moses Cone Medical Center. 


Robert was born in Rockingham County on January 25, 1952 the son of the late Robert Junior Simpson and Velma Depoy Simpson. He was employed as a welder for most of his life and was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and friend. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Michael Shane Simpson and two sisters, Doris Simpson and Janice Saul, and a brother, Jerl Simpson.


Surviving are his wife and companion Naomi Powell Ward; two sons, Phillip Simpson (Stephanie Nance) and Robert Simpson (Wendy); six grandchildren, Audrey Simpson, Daniel Simpson, Xander Simpson, Hayden Simpson, Gloria Mosher and Max Velasquez; three great grandchildren, Jessica Ann Mosher, Justin Mosher and Brian Mosher; two sisters, Patricia Lowe (Skip) and Marilyn Lamm (Alton) as well as numerous other relatives.  


A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday with Rev. Stephen Hall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.omegafsc.com.
