Melissa Dodson, 57 of Burlington went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 14, 2019 from the injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident. 
Melissa was born in Rockingham County on November 24, 1961 the daughter of the late James Cleveland Duncan and Syloma Smith Duncan. She was employed as the manager of the Qwik Chek in Haw River and was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. 
Surviving are her signifigant other Jimmy Miles; two sons, James "Michael" Oliver (Jerlene Harris) and Scotty Oliver and wife Jennifer; two brothers, Dennis Duncan and Lee Duncan; three sisters, Jean Agee, Kaye Baysden and Diane Foust; two grandchildren, Tayshon Oliver and Jesse Whittington, III as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. 
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm on Friday at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel with Rev. Stephan Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service. Sign an online register book at www.omegafsc.com.
