Marguerite “Peggy” Brewer Gregg
February 21, 1923 – July 29, 2017
Marguerite (Peggy) Hendrickson Brewer Gregg, took her final flight July 29, 2017 to join her beloved Donald. As she always loved to travel, her family wishes her bon voyage, with suns of love to warm and brighten her way. As the daughter of a statesman and diplomat from Woodbury NJ, she attended Marjorie Webster College in Washington, DC. She married Donald Brewer of Woodbury, NJ (US Marines and US Army Special Forces), and raised her family traveling the globe. Upon Donald’s early passing while living in Banner Elk, NC; Peggy pursued her dream in the fashion industry, establishing The Peguin, a line of specialty fashion stores in Banner Elk, NC; Murrells Inlet, SC; Myrtle Beach, SC; Thorofare, NJ; and Pawleys Island, SC. She later married Donald Gregg of Montclair, NJ. A life long supporter and member of the Colonial Dames, Peggy deeply loved her country. She was passionate about many things and was stylishly on the beach and in the sun whenever she got the chance. But mostly and always, her greatest passion was her family. She had many gifts, the best of which was as Mother.
Peggy is survived by her children Donald Brewer and wife Tamara (Columbia SC), Bonnie Brewer (Pawleys Island, SC), Pam Brewer (Newland, NC), Olga Elder and husband John (Burlington, NC), Robert Brewer and wife Mary (Columbia, SC), and Sara Brewer (Atlantic Beach, FL); her precious grandchildren Cassity, Stokes, Victoria, James and Aaron Brewer; and her sister June Hendrickson Nolte (Wilmington DE).
