Lonnie Russell

Lonnie M Russell of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 2, 2019 at the age of 71.

Lonnie was born in Burlington, North Carolina on November 19, 1948 the son of the late Willie M. Russell and Minnie W. Russell. He was a US Army veteran that served in the Vietnam War.  He spent the majority of his professional career in the textile industry. He eventually retired from Alexander Fabrics. Our Dad will rejoin his wife La-Juan Russell, Sister Jean, and Brothers Jimmy and Harold all lost this year. He was a family man and spent his days visiting family members and enjoying time with his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his children Lonnie Mack Russell Jr. of Mt. Airy, NC; Damarsee Russell of Albemarle, NC; David Russell of Burlington, NC; Ricky Russell of Gibsonville, NC; Marshall Russell of Burlington, NC, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of life dinner that will be at a later date, information will be shared. The family will have a private service here in Burlington and another service at Holden Beach, NC.
