Larry James Walker, 74 of Burlington passed away peacefully on Friday February 16, 2018 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
Larry was born in Alamance County on April 22, 1943 the son of the late Harry James Walker and Frances Ingram Walker. He was employed for many years as a truck driver and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Larry was a very giving man, loved his family and friends. Enjoyed trucks, fishing and his animals, especially Muffie.
Surviving are his wife of the home Janice Thomas Walker; four daughters, Sherry Ann Moore (Harold), Carolyn Walker Edwards, Wendy Bowman Bryant (Mark) and Jessica Bowman Hursey (Chris); four sisters, Carol Pyda, Betty Jo Linville, Brenda Matakovic and Glenda Walker; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Shepard, Derek Edward, Blake Edwards, Alexandra (Ali) B. Poole, Jacob Bryant, Savannah, Christopher (Bud), John Tyler (TyTy), Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Colton (Coltie) Hursey;3 great grandchildren, Kevin (Trey) Poole, Kira Poole and Brayden Edwards
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 pm on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Omega Funeral Service & Crematory Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and all other times at the home. The family wish to give sincere thanks to Dr. Govinda Brahmanday and his wonderful staff at the Cone Health Cancer Center at Alamance Regional and Dr. Francsco Hodges and all the nurses for their heartfelt care.
