Joseph Tyler Finch, age 35, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 16, 2018.
Born in Raleigh, NC on June 16, 1983 to Judy P. Finch Greeson who survives and William C. Finch, who is deceased. Joe loved fishing, camping, boating and just being outdoors. He loved Alabama football, Roll Tide!!!! Joe was an old soul and anyone that knew him knew his love for music. Tina Turner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Percy Sledge & Hank Williams were his favorites. Joe never met a stranger and had so many very special friends that he cared for very much. Too many to list individually. He loved being in Hyde County, NC more than anywhere else and loved being with the people that lived there, like an extended family. There will never be another man like him, he was truly one of a kind.
Other than his mother Judy, Joe is survived by his son, Lane Tyler Finch, his daughter, Jeni Mae Finch. His brother, Edward “Eddie” Finch his wife, Dee Finch, nephews, Devin & Ethan Finch, half-brother, William C. Finch, Jr. “Buddy” & half-sister April Finch. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mildred “Gramma Mim” Finch.
Other than Joe’s father, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jennie Mae Pierce and Edward “Big” Pierce & his paternal grandfather, Howard “The Chief” Finch.
Joe’s celebration of life will be Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3572 W. Greensboro-Chapel Hill Road, Liberty, NC 27298 the family will receive family & friends immediately following the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers any donations can be made to The Hunters Helping Kids Organization in his memory.
