Jerry Osborne, 70, of Burlington passed away Saturday June 30, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Durham.
Jerry was born in Laurens County, SC on September 11, 1947 the son of the late James Ernest Osborne and Ola Mae Wilson Osborne. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War and then went on to graduate from Elon College. He was the owner of Chandler Office Supply for many years and enjoyed sports, in particular baseball and bowling. He coached a Thoroughbred Baseball team in Burlington and also bowled in several leagues. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Osborne. On January 26th 1980 he married the former Patty Wells who survives him.
Surviving in addition to his wife Patty are one sister Debra Gibbs; two sisters in law, Darlene Hutchens and Janice Nicks and Husband Lynn; a special niece Kyhli Glass and Husband Adam; two nieces, Tammy Skinner and Kayla Gibbs; two nephews, Todd Nicks and Mike Gibbs; and a great nephew, Jamison Glass.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday July 7, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church with military honors to follow. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
